We used two empty tin cans for our elephant feet. I used a black sharpie to draw on the toenails. Carter started to paint in the nails and our paint just wasn't working well. So I looked through my supply "briefcase" for another idea. I found pink clay, so we tried that out. Carter loved smashing the clay onto the can. It turned out great!
I used yarn to thread through the holes for each foot and tied the ends for Carter to hold onto.
Carter tried out the stilt approach, however he didn't feel secure enough with it. So he had much more fun playing puppeteer!
